Youth for Tomorrow’s Behavioral Health Services (BHS) diagnoses and treats issues including but not limited to depression; anxiety and panic symptoms; post-traumatic stress; anger, attachment and obsessive-compulsive issues; grief and loss; self-harm; co-occurring disorders; aggression; attention deficits and other behavioral concerns; and familial and relational issues. The program’s staff is comprised of psychiatrists, licensed clinicians, therapists, and nurses and offers a wide variety of treatment, ranging from play and cognitive-behavioral therapies to trauma-informed care and behavioral intervention.
Most insurance plans are accepted, including but not limited to Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Anthem HealthKeepers, Anthem Health Keepers Plus, Carefirst, Cigna, Intotal Health. Medicaid, Optima Health, TriCare, TriCare Plus and United Health Care. Youth For Tomorrow offers outpatient counseling at its four Behavioral Health Offices located in Gainesville, Manassas, Springfield and Woodbridge. Before scheduling an initial intake appointment, BHS’ Intake Coordinator, who can be reached at (703) 955-3187, will determine if BHS is suited to meet your needs and will tell you which BHS location you should go to.
Youth for Tomorrow’s Intensive In-Home Services support children and adolescents when behavioral and mental health issues may result in their removal from the home environment without timely intervention, along with youth who are transitioning home from foster care, detention or residential programs. This service may be funded by Virginia Medicaid.
Therapeutic Day Treatment (TDT) participants are school-aged children and adolescents whose serious mental health, behavioral and emotional difficulties place them at risk for removal from their homes or schools, whose ability to handle self-contained or resource classrooms without intensive interventions is seriously compromised, and/or whose difficulty with interpersonal relationships require recurrent interventions at home and/or in the community. The TDT program coincides with the Fairfax County and Prince William County Public Schools calendar and operates Mondays through Fridays. Medicaid funds this service for youth who are current recipients and meet the TDT program’s eligibility criteria.
