Make Your Own Mental Health Crisis Kit

When you have depression or another mental health condition, you often cannot predict when you will find yourself struggling. A Mental Health Crisis Kit is a collection of comforting items you can carry with you or have on hand for those situations. Suggestions to place in your own kit include:

  • Earbuds or headphones to listen to music or simply cancel out noise
  • A sketchbook or notebook for expressing your feelings
  • Playing cards (Just shuffling them can be calming for some people)
  • A fidget cube or spinner
  • A favorite book
  • A small can of Play-Doh, which can be an excellent stress reliever
  • A coloring book and colored pencils
  • A Calm Bottle or Glitter Jar, you can purchase one or make your own (http://www.instructables.com/id/Calm-Bottle-aka-Glitter-Jar/)
  • Bubbles and/or a piece of bubble wrap
  • Candy or gum
